Adam Brown

Adam D. Brown is the Chief Operating Officer at Engineered Intelligence Inc. where he leverages his extensive background in strategic asset management and operational leadership to drive enterprise excellence and digital transformation.

Previously, as Director of Utilities Asset Management at The AES Corporation, Adam spearheaded comprehensive grid modernization initiatives and Smart Grid Strategy across multiple utilities. He led the development and presentation of critical regulatory testimony, including capital investment plans, grid modernization roadmaps, and Integrated Resource Planning. His strategic leadership resulted in significant reliability improvements, achieving a 19% year over year enhancement in SAIDI and 29% in SAIFI through targeted infrastructure investments and operational excellence at one such utility.

In his role overseeing System Forecasting, Modeling, and Analysis, or “planning” in traditional utility speak, Adam directed complex grid interconnection studies and long-term system planning while managing regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions. He successfully led the implementation of unified standards and advanced distribution management systems, establishing a foundation for next-generation grid operations.

Adam holds multiple professional certifications focusing on reliability engineering, root cause analysis, vibration analysis, Six Sigma, and process optimization. He was also honored to be named as a Kentucky Colonel by Governor Andy Beshear in 2023, accomplishing a life long dream of achieving this title. His work in operational transformation and innovation earned him both the AES US SBU President's Award and the AES Global Founder's Award for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
